Telematics Update unveils finalists for the Telematics Awards 2006

This year, a record breaking number of entries from across the value chain were submitted for the Telematics Update Awards, and the competition has been far closer than ever before.

“In the future consumers are going to expect their vehicles to integrate seamlessly into their digital lifestyles for entertainment, convenience, information, safety, security and much more,” says Ven Pedro, event director for Telematics Update Detroit 2006. “The Telematics Update Awards recognizes those companies that are helping make this future a reality through innovative new products, solutions and services.”

“The fact that so many companies are investing in telematics obviously reflects that they now see great potential for profit and is an excellent indicator of the strength of the industry,” said Pedro.

Chosen by an independent panel of automotive and wireless industry judges, each judge had to narrow each category down to five finalists.

The finalists in each of the categories are as follows (in alphabetical order):
