The FleetPulse® Wireless Fleet Management System is comprised of three core components; the Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU), The VIUPoint Authentication Server and the OverVIU Information Manager.

The FleetPulse OverVIU Information Manager is the engine of the FleetPulse Wireless Fleet Management System, providing data storage, analysis and a comprehensive array of reports. The OverVIU gathers, analyses and presents OBDII diagnostics and other vehicle data that is collected by the Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU) and transferred by the VIUPoint Authentication Server. It presents this data in actionable format including alarms, exception reports and data records.

Customers can access OverVIU from any location with a standard Web browser. OverVIU can also be installed as an enterprise solution if preferred. The solution integrates easily with automotive customer relationship management (CRM) software, fleet enterprise systems and other third-party applications.

The OverVIU Information Manager consists of a:

• Highly customizable Web interface for selecting and viewing reports
• Vehicle analysis engine that executes the logic for assessing the state and condition of a vehicle
• Directory that manages user, driver and vehicle information
• Database(s) that store ongoing historical vehicle information

Multiple-Input Analysis

OverVIU obtains and analyses input from several different sources within the fleet ecosystem, including:

• Current state of the vehicle, indicated by data collected by the VIU
• Subject-matter expertise acquired from industry knowledge-bases published by car manufacturers and service organizations
• Historical information collected by the VIU and stored in the OverVIU databases
• Anecdotal information acquired from the fleet operator or service organization

These inputs are used to generate a scorecard for the vehicle or fleet in its entirety. Depending on which FleetPulse™ applications the customer has purchased, the OverVIU generates various alarms, reports and other records of value to the fleet manager or repair service provider.

Dynamic, Simple Presentation

OverVIU presents the vehicle data – both raw and analyzed – through a number of simple and easy-to-use graphical user interfaces. These make day-to-day fleet operations simple and efficient, and provide the basis of useful business reports. These include standard built-in reports, as well as the flexibility to create custom reports as required by the customer.

Integration with Third Parties

Using the Web services application programming interface (API), the OverVIU allows third-party applications and services to access fleet information through standard Web-services protocols.

With the OverVIU, existing systems can be maximized with better vehicle data as a basis for their processes. All data gathered by the VIU is easily accessible by other systems and programs – such as enterprise planning, fleet management software, fleet management services, and other focused programs already in operation or development.
